So how much do you really want to quit smoking? How truly committed are you to giving up the nicotine now? The correct answer to both questions is 100%.  Without your full commitment there will be no success. My commitment to you is 100% however in overall terms that accounts for about 10% of the overall commitment, the other 90% comes from you. Remember this is your body, your health, your life and your wealth. At some stage, if we want a happy, healthy life, we each have to take responsibility to give ourselves the best and most optimal chance to achieve that goal and yes we can all do with some help and guidance along the way and that last 10% can be all that is needed to reach the tipping point that leads to success. Just take a moment, sit quietly and consider the following questions: As you are now, consuming however many cigarettes is your norm, picture yourself in 5 years time and ask yourself this: “If I carry on smoking how will I be in 5 years time?  Will I still have this cough? Will it be any worse? What will my health be like in general? What will I be missing out on? Do I really want to still be out there last thing at night in the rain and snow having that last drag before I go to bed? At present day prices how much will another 5 years of smoking cost me? And then increase that total by 50%” And now take time to consider this: Picture yourself as a non-smoker of 5 years ask yourself: “How do I feel, right now? Do I feel – happier, healthier, fitter, more energetic with maybe a sense of pride in achieving such good results? How am I rewarding myself with the money I have saved? What can I do now that I couldn’t before?” So now how much do you want to quit?   How committed are you now?  As long as your answers to the last two questions are 100%, you are ready to continue and you are ready to make a full commitment to be nicotine free. If a packet of 20 cigarettes costs about £6.75, and you smoke 20 a day you will be spending £206.53 per month,  which is £2,478.35 per year,  which is a massive £12,391.75 in 5 years, by adding 50% to allow for price increases and the fact that most people will underestimate their actual consumption we reach a whopping £18,587.62 in just 5 years.
